Hey I am currently a community college student. I am a Nursing major however i have decided that this is not for me. I have completed all of my GE’s and i am ready to apply to transfer to a University. I was wondering if anyone knows if i can apply to the Universities I plan to apply to as a brand new major or if I have to keep my community college major?
It depends on the universities you’re applying to, and the new major you want to apply as. A lot of universities require specific prerequisite courses for each major, especially if you’re applying as a rising junior. Therefore, if you plan on applying as a different major, you’ll have to check if you have those prerequisites done.
Depending on the major, you may very well not have ANY prerequisites for the major you want to apply as. If this is the case, then you’ll have to switch majors after you transfer.
