*Current grade/Transfering as: Freshman/Sophomore
*GPA: 3.67, 5 classes

****EC’s: 4 years JV and Varsity swimming, 4 years Orchestra, Member of the Ohio American Regions Mathematics League team 2006 (biggest national event, won a medal for scoring highest on my team in the individual rounds), Veterans of Foreign Wars regional speech contest 2nd place, other various leadership positions in dormitory and clubs

**Volunteering: I worked as a teacher/dorm counselor at the only North Korean escapee school in South Korea (100+hours). I also did some volunteer work at the Boston Southend Salvation Army (50+ hours), and in school clubs.

*SAT II: 800 Math2c 770 Chem 740 Bio
**AP: 5 in Biology, 5 in BC calculus, 4 in US history

I will be switching majors at CMU, and I think I will be generally happy there, so applying for very high reach schools. Thanks in advance for your input, and any advice would be appreciated!

In my view, you could definitely transfer into a very highly rated school but your top choices are all near impossible…all those schools get a thousand transfer apps with similar numbers, from very good schools and a few hundred with better stats. Also, I hate to say it but being asian isn’t going to help since it’s an over-represented minority at most top schools…but hey, you can try, it never hurts to take a shot…good luck.

I think most schools on my list look at the combined score… And most schools don’t even give that much weight to standardized test scores to begin with =[
