I’m attending Bridgewater State University in the fall as a freshman. The university was actually my safety, and I committing there due to financial issues. I’m hopeful that my financial situation will improve. I wanted to double major or do a dual degree in biology and art, but I couldn’t. It turns out I couldn’t pursue both because both majors together had too many requirements in that school. They put me in as a biology major instead. I want to transfer to pursue my double major or dual degree. I’ve thought about transferring to Tufts for their dual degree program with the SMFA. However, are there other schools that allows a dual degree or double major in both art and biology? Are there certain prerequisites or pre-req courses I have to take for those majors in those schools suggested?
Also, things I would like in a college other than allowing a dual degree or double major in both biology and art:
-strong programs in both biology and art
-located in the New England states (except Vermont) or New York
-has an intercollegiate track and field team (I plan to continue running in college.)
-LGBT safe
-offers housing for transfers
-study abroad programs
-internships, co-ops, or both
-diverse student body
-a variety of food around campus(I’m a vegetarian with peanut, tree nut, and sesame allergies.)
Not as important, but highly preferred:
-an orchestra or string ensemble (I would love to join an orchestra again to put my violin to use. It’s hard to let go as a violinist for 9 years.)
-somewhere near the ocean or a river
-a wide variety of clubs to join
