I’m going to be a Freshman at NYU next year taking core liberal arts classes. U Chicago rejected me, but I’d like to attend there sophomore year, if I’m accepted. What do I need to do to up my chances? I know I need to get near perfect grades my freshman year in college, but what can I do besides that? Will they still look at my high school transcript? Is it worth applying for awards and scholarships to enhance my resume?

1) Try to get to know and appreciate NYU first.

Point taken, I know you’re right, and I will definitely go to NYU as an excited and hopeful student. It just felt so right when I visited U. Chicago, that I don’t want to give up on it yet.

Yeah I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing if I don’t get off of the wait list at Chicago, either from NYU or UCSD. Does anyone know how hard this is?
