Transferring to UC vs. private colleges

I am a freshman at Purdue University and I am hoping that I will be able to transfer after my sophomore year. I was hoping to transfer into UC Berkeley or Cornell and the likes. I wish to be enlightened as to the difficulty of being accepted to a UC system that has a totally different system in comparison to Purdue as opposed to getting into a school like Cornell and other schools that are similar. Also, if you can compare the difficulty of transferring as opposed to applying as a freshman. Thank you in advance.

Many private colleges do not accept many transfers as freshman. Some don’t accept any. UC’s don’t accept very many transfers out of state- especially if you are already at a 4 year institution. You’d have a better shot getting into Berkeley from a California Community College first. You would have to have a very very compelling reason why you would be leaving your school.

agree with itdoesn’tmatter…
4-yr plus out-of-state must be hard to transfer to UC… in HS, they even said that it’s hard for CSU (4 year Cal State) to get admited… on the other hand, 2-yr community college students are easier to get in…
Gd luck!!
