Transferring to UCD with a low gpa

Hey. This is pretty much the deal, I did awesome the first semester at a CC and the second semester I got a D which lowered my overall gpa which I brought up this semester to become a 2.8. I obviously couldn’t sign a TAG to UCD this year like I originally planned so I thought I was doomed to stay at a CC for another year until I found out that I could apply to UCD without a TAG so I did but i’m not quite sure what my chances of transferring are. Im majoring in Clinical Nutrition which i’ve heard is not impacted at all. If any of you can please tell me of stories of people transferring to UCD with a low gpa that would be great or at least just tell me if I have a shot.

It seems unlikely you’ll be admitted with a 2.8 - which, if you are honest with yourself doesn’t really stem from a single D.

Why not transfer to a CSU?

Well, if you’re trying to transfer to any UC with a 2.8, it will honestly probably not work out, seeing as the minimum GPA to get in is a 3.0.
Spend the extra year and see if you can seriously raise your grades.

If you can, try to get academic renewal on that ‘D’ class, it’ll bring your GPA up.

Just to let you all know btw… I DID GET IN TO UC DAVIS!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

this is probably super late, but did you finish your prereqs? I’m in the same situation right now! :frowning:

I have the same major as you, and also want transfer to UCD with low GPA. Would you tell me your succeed~ Thank
