Transferring to UMass Amherst from Dartmouth?

Hey guys, so I am currently enrolled in UMD as a first year and I really want to get into UMA, I applied back in HS but got rejected because my stats were poor, I had abouta 1400 on SAT’s (out of 2400) and i had about a 2.8 for my final GPA, at UMD, I got deans list by getting a 3.308 which is fairly high from what people are telling me but I am still a bit worried. I was gonna do engineering but the admission lady practiaclly told me I was gonna get declined for not having the pre-req classes met (Calc,Chem & Phy) so i switched to Poli Sci, I don’t think it will be that hard. I am active in the band and a Hatian club on campus here but i am still worried. Anyone have some tips? I would not like to stay here at UMD another year or semester, what do you guys think? Hopefully I can keep a strong Gpa this semester.

Thanks!

I don’t think you should go into Political Science unless you really want to. Transferring schools is not a good reason to give up your major, and UMA will see this. You need to have a solid reason for applying Political Science to another school even though the one you are at now is fine. In other words, you need a reason why you don’t want to do engineering and why you want to leave UMD.

I’m not even engineering at my school, I’m Accounting in fact, and it isn’t for me. I like Poli Sci but maybe I’ll stay with something in Lib Arts I’m just so lost in everything
