ACT: 32
No Subject Tests
Honor Society, sports, other stuff.

Top 10 engineering school
GPA: 3.7
Lots of good research. Good recs & essays.

I want to go to a smaller school. Do I have a good shot at Vandy?
Feel free to recommend other medium sized, good schools.
thanks.

give stanford a shot?? I mean a 3.7 is pretty good but dont expect a lot it takes a lot of luck but give it a shot, why not? The problem with vanderbuilt and schools like that is the amount of people they accept is soo low. it is in the double digits. Well qualified students get passed up because the applicant pool is so large compared to the amount of people they take in.

Which top10 school are you coming from? I find it hard to understand you wanting to leave a top10 college?

How about Wake Forest, I dont know too much about their engineering program but I do know they have are a very good school and there are about 4500 undergrads. The acceptance rate for transfers is 36%. There is also Georgetown, which has around 6700 undergrads with a 28% acceptance rate.

Hope that helps!

actually georgetown was 12 % this year boss

Lehigh? Cornell?

How small is “smaller?”

What Engineering field are you in? If BME or ChemE, then Tulane is a possible. Santa Clara University.

Give a little more info on your field and any other criteria (geography?)

BME, and I don’t really care too much about geography. My high school stats are not that good, and I didnt take any subject tests, so I probably wont get into any programs that are in the 10-19% acceptance rate percentage. I don’t care too much about size, maybe 5,000-15,000 total.

do subject tests really matter that much for transfer? you seem to be doing well in college, and you have a high act.

I’m wondering, because I know most top colleges require subject tests for freshman admits, so I sort of guessed they would be required for transfer as well.

If anyone knows more about this, let us know.
