Hi guys,

I’ve been to two colleges. Graduated one with an associates ( 62 credits), went back to school for two years (community college), and i’m about to transfer to get my BA (so will have 124 before the transfer).

How will the potential college view me? Accumulative GPA of both colleges? I ask because you must provide all transcripts of previous colleges you’ve been to.

Thanks

What I’ve learned reading through numerous threads is that, upon transfer, the school will look at all grades from all colleges to determine your GPA. Most schools, however, pay attention to improvement of grades. So if you did badly your first time around, but drastically improved your second time around (e.g. getting straight A’s), that will be taken into consideration.

At least in California, you can transfer with as many units as you want, but only 70 (semester) units are counted towards meeting the unit requirement for the Bachelor’s. The remaining units need to be upper division which are only obtained after transferring.

Do you know if they count grades from courses that are not relevant to the the major? If you can only bring in 60 credits (because the college wants you to complete an additional 60 credits at their school), I don’t understand what they would be looking for on my previous college transcript.
