I am currently enrolled at a CC in order to get a AS. I plan to transfer to a 4 year University next fall to get a Bachelors in Biology, but I still will be 1 semester away from finishing my AS. The Universitys I am applying to are nothing spectacularly fancy, but will they even consider me if I am 1 semester from my AS? Would it give me a better chance of acceptance if I did have my AS finished, or does it not matter? I have a 4.0 GPA in college, but I graduated a year early with only a GED and the test scores are not all that high. I dont have my ACT or SAT. So if I do transfer with a semester left before my AS, do they look back to my high school records? Or will they just look at my 3 semesters in CC? Thank you!
I don’t think they will care whether you have an AS or not. You have a good GPA and more than 30 credits (1 year) of college so test scores will probably not even be requested. The factthat you can handle college level work is the important thing.
You should communicate with the Transfer Admissions Office at each of your target universities. Some places have more favorable policies for students with a full associates degree. Others don’t care at all. Some places will require your HS/GED records and ACT/SAT scores, others won’t. You have to ask each place separately about this.
