transferring without reporting transcript

I took 3 courses this summer term as a guest student at another institution. I had an emergency that did not allow me to complete these courses. After getting back from dealing with things out of town I decided to petition for a term withdrawal. The withdrawal was not approved and I was only given a letter of condolence. I had applied for financial aid at the guest institution and had received funds; however, I am still in the grace period in which I can return the rewarded money and declare it as not accepted. I work full time and am blessed to have the means of paying for the course without financial aid.

My question for all of you is would I have to report this transcript to graduate programs? If I chose not to, will they find out if they look at my financial aid paperwork, despite the fact that I may have rejected financial aid form the guest institution? Please advise accordingly and honestly. I do not care for moral arguments, rather legal facts.

P.S. I apologize for the terrible grammar and spelling. My computer is on the verge of running out of batteries and I am at a coffee shop miles from my apartment. Thank you all ahead of time.

From what I understand you have to report it. There are those who say that there are data bases that tell colleges where you have attended and they will find out. The fact that you applied for financial aid is an additional factor that will find out. I think you should report it and add the letter from the school and your appeal. I think you should return the money and turn in the transcripts with an explanation. Good Luck.
