Okay…I’ve seen and heard that transfers are exempt from the swim test and PE requirement.

But then my New Student Preview has that I have yet to sign up for the swim test, and I must take it.

…Uhh…which is it?

Thanks.

YES…transfers are exempt from the swim test!!!

Unless you don’t have enough credits to be considered for sophomore status or apparently if you want to take PE classes anyway.

I think you need at least 20 credits transfered to be exempt from the swim test.

In order to be considered for sophomore status you need at least 30 credits…however…it is rare for accepted transfers students to come in with less than 30 credits.

You ARE exempt from swim test as well as the PE requirement.

I got my tentative credit award today.

It says, “Transfer students who transfer a total of 24 credits or more are exempt from PE requirements. Transfer of 13-23 credits requires 1 PE course and a swim test at Cornell.”
