Hey guys,

So, I read Amherst statistically takes in 60% of their transfer pool from two-year institutions (community colleges). I finished my first term at my local two-year college with a 4.0 and am planning to take more challenging courses (chemistry, physics, calc). I have many extracurricular activities planned until I apply to transfer and am really anxious about my chances and what it takes to become accepted. I was hoping some transfer accepted students could shed some light on what I will compete against, historically.

My background:
- Strict Animal Rights advocate
- Vegan and involved in the vegetarian/vegan communities of my city
- Plan to found an organization on my campus for this in the upcoming term
- Motivated Undergraduate Researcher (I plan to publish by spring '14)
- Co-founded an organization for this (Ungrad Research) in the last term on my campus.
(So far this is what I have, for sure, the rest is pretty common, such as long time hospital volunteer)

- Co-founded an organization for this (Ungrad Research) in the last term on my campus.

Could you guys help me out with your prior history? Anything will help! I’d like to know what more I have not thought of to properly represent myself and properly demonstrate my motivated drive to achieve my goals.
