What does the adcom look for in transfer students? Is the process less selective?

Hi there, I was accepted as a transfer to WashU and I’ll be attending next fall. Personally, I think they really look to see if you show interest in their school. I went for a visit and had an interview, which I think helped a lot. I also think they look at your GPA. Even though I don’t go to a really selective school, I think my GPA helped me out. As for selectivity, I read somewhere that they accept about 30% of transfers, though don’t quote me on that.

I agree with OP. They like to see a B+ GPA, good professor recs, and interest. You should visit the campus–it’s quite lovely and they give lots of delicious food.

Thanks a lot.
