@jkellynj17 - my D will be working on stage combat, which begins with “fist fights” - gee I hope she gets a good grade on her right hook…

It’s a whole new world, @toowonderful.

Stage Combat is a wonderful skill for an actor to have. There are certification programs of different forms of combat and it is something that is often in demand for productions. It can be one of those “survival” jobs while still being in the business.

@amtc- that is D’s goal, and she is well on her way. In fact, she asked for a new sword for Christmas

D is in a production right now where seasoned actors, well trained in stage combat, are grappling with the challenge of fighting atop a stage which is apparently shaped like the overturned bottom of a ship. And over the past year she had to sing while hula-hooping and in another show while being lifted head over heels repeatedly. Always plenty of fine-tuning to work on, for sure!

Juggling and fist fights. That about sums up a life in the theater.
