I’m going to be starting on my applications for this fall, thus I’m already thinking of essays and EC’s to include. I’m currently translating a book from Portuguese to English, although it’s small - only 9 chapters. Would this be impressive if I include it in my application? If so, could it increase my chances of getting in (not just at UGA, but generally speaking)? I want to apply to UGA and I hope this will be one more factor that could help me stand out.

Bump… I’d really like an answer… I’m curious!

You could always add it as an activity on your resume. If you apply to one of the colleges that doesn’t allow you to list more than 5 activities, then this one should be a tad lower on the list (depending on what your other ECs are). This is not to say it won’t help, every activity helps!
