Translations in Portfolio a Good Idea?

This is my first time using this forum, so I’m not exactly sure where this post should go but this seems closest.
So while filling out the Common App’s extracurricular sections, I mentioned that I study Japanese independently and have a few translations I’m working on. I’ve done two novels, but neither of them are licensed by the author (since, trust me, it is almost impossible to pull off, especially as a high school student).
I wanted to add snippets of my translations for the colleges who take extra files as a way to show that I’ve actually accomplished something instead of just saying I’ve learned the language. There are no locations that offer the JLPT around me, and even if I did take the AP or SAT II test, it would be too late to show scores, so this is the only solid example of my skill I have.
Do you think submitting a snippet would be a good idea to demonstrate my work, or do you think it would be a bad idea since it is an unlicensed translation, which they might see as illegal? After searching around, there are no translations of these works, so that isn’t my concern, but I’m worried it might fall under plagiarism or something related…
Thanks!!

AO’s don’t have time to read some segment of a translation. Also, how would they know if it was any good?

I only was attaching 1 page from the novel, which translates to about half of a page in a word document. I also attached the original page that I translated. I figured that if they have time to look over research papers or other supplements people submit, they can at least glance over this and/or give it to someone who can see if it is correct.

I don’t really see what this adds to your app over just telling them about it. They’ll believe you when you say it.
