Transportation between Duke and Durham

Is there any shuttle that goes between the campus and Durham regularly? If so, how often? And if not, what other alternatives are available?

[Duke Parking and Transportation: C-5 Bus Schedule](http://parking.duke.edu/buses_vans/bus_sched/c5.php)

The C-5 bus: Thursday-Saturaday 7pm to 3am every 20 minutes, connecting Duke to 9th street and Brightleaf Square.

If all else fails, there’s always zipcar for stuff that shuttles don’t reach

Does the C-5 still exist this year? I haven’t seen it at all…

There’s a new (free!) bus service called the Bull City Connector that runs from Duke to downtown Durham. Currently it stops right outside of East Campus and near the hospital, and I’ve heard that they’re working on getting a stop closer to the heart of West.

[Bull City Connector | Home](http://www.bullcityconnector.org/)

I’ve never seen a C-5, but its two stops (Brightleaf and 9th) are easily walkable from East.

C-5 stops right off 9th St., about a 30 second walk from Erwin apts.

I should add that C-5 is almost never on time. Many times it actually never appeared, leaving one to wait off 9th Street in a relatively sketchy area (across from Cosmic cantina) for another 30 minutes, and that is not fun late at night. Trust me.
