For anyone who is attending a college far away from home (I’m going from the east coast to the west coast) are there any scholarships that can help with the cost of buying a plane ticket? Any suggestions?
Schools that provide need-based aid generally incorporate the cost of transportation into a student’s total cost of attendance, so, if you are admitted to a school that meets your full need (most do not) and you are very, very low income, transportation would be included.
For all other students, though, it’s something you’d be expected to pay for yourself from your summer earnings. Or you could apply for a small, local scholarship that would cover that cost. Check with your high school guidance counselor to find out what might be available.
