Hi All,

I have a specific q about application process. Does your school matter when transferring? Let’s do compare between X person and Y person.

X is going to top 60 public university and have 3.8 GPA.
Y goes to a community college or any typical 4 year college and have a gpa around 3.8

The only difference is between them their school. GPA, essays, extracurricular activities, recommendations are on same level.

Do they have exact chance to get in?

If you’re attending a top University (let’s say UPenn) having the same GPA means a lot more.

To an extent, yes. A 3.8 at UPenn vs. State U is a big difference.

But if you’re not at a top school and they’re not at a top school I don’t think school is really going to factor in.
