For those who like adventure travel, look at mountaintravelsobek.com. Yesterday my H left for Ethiopia trekking in the Simien Mountains. In January, he is going to climb Mt. Aconcaqua in Argentina. Last year, he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and after that a safari, all with adventure travel outfits.

For the same money, I’d rather spend my nights in 5 star hotels rather than staying in a tent for almost the whole time.

Onward, right now out trip includes several days in BA. Any advice about where to stay and what to see would be much appreciated. Was the food as great as it sounds?

mountaintravelsobek.com is a great company but $$$. GAP adventures goes the same places but for much less [Outdoor Adventure Travel - Research and Book an Adventure Holiday from G.A.P Adventures](http://www.gapadventures.com/). National Geographic Adventure Magazine does an annual best trips issue that has tons of info and websites.

Food was fabulous and cheap, wine was delicious and the men are handsome. What a country! We stayed in a little b & b called Mansilla3595 in Palermo. Wonderful hosts. The wife and children could speak English. It was a great neighborhood, near cafes and the subway. The subway is easy to use & taxis are cheap (use radiocabs only). We went to Recolata cemetery- very cool. There’s a market there on the weekends that was fun to browse through- many neat things to buy. San Telmo also has one; that one was much larger. La Boca- was interesting but stay in the main tourist area. We took the boat (Buquebus) over to Uruguay for a day and went to the town of Colonia del Sacramento- very quaint and refreshly quiet after the big city. We also took 3 days and went by plane to Iguazu. We stayed at the Secret Garden B & B- also wonderful.

I hope we can go back some day and see the rest of the country. If you have any more questions, let me know. And let me know how your trip goes!

Thanks csleslie51 for providing some cheaper options. I’ll have my H look into them when he gets back. He’s done a few trips with mountaintravelsobek and has enjoyed their service. Going up Kilimanjaro, there were only 9 people signed up in the group, but they provided 21 porters and 2 guides.
