Travel from University of Kansas to Chicago

<p>Does anyone have a student at the University of Kansas from the Chicago area? If so, how they travel back and forth? Have you ever used Amtrak?</p>

<p>We live about 30 miles from KU. D’s best friend goes to college in Chicago. She takes the Megabus.</p>

<p>I have a student at KU and although we don’t live in Chicago, his Southwest flights usually connect through MDW.</p>

<p>When I went to KU years ago, the Chicago kids just hopped a cheap flight from KC to Chicago. Very easy to get a ride from Lawrence to KC as tons of kids live in the KC metro area. The train and bus and or driving just eats into the limited time college kids have in my opinion.</p>
