Travel Help

Hello Parents!! Well, I will be going to Brown this summer. I wanted some help on public transport. I will be flying across the world to EWR, Newark. I have some business there and plan to leave the airport at around 6~7 in the morning. Can someone here please help me on this?? :)

I suggest taking the train, although it will take you several hours.

There is an Amtrak station that connects by monorail to Newark airport. There is also an Amtrak station very close to Brown University in Providence, RI. It’s about a four-hour train ride from one place to the other.

A few hints:

Buy your Amtrak ticket online several weeks in advance. [Train and Bus Tickets, Other Thruway Services - USA and Canada | Amtrak.com](http://www.amtrak.com) At that time, it will cost you about $50 (one-way). If you wait until the day of your trip, it will be much more expensive.

Make sure you get a ticket from the Newark AIRPORT station, not the downtown Newark station. Your destination is Providence, RI.

Allow plenty of time between the arrival of your plane and the departure of your train. Your flight could be delayed, and I don’t know how much time it takes to get to the train station by that monorail (although someone else will probably tell you). Switching your reservation from one Amtrak train to another on the day of your trip is also expensive.

Thank You for the answer Marian. Can anyone tell me about the monorail??
