Travel -- The places you might NOT want to visit again!

Oh, I forgot Pigeon Forge, TN, where Dollywood is. We haven’t actually been there, but it has been on our route, and the traffic jams have been something amazing at the times we were going through.

Added: I mean, this is a place I am not interested in visiting.

Reminds me of the phrase “Only boring people are bored.” At least that’s what my Mom would tell me when I complained about being bored.

Florida. All of it.

Okay, I might give Miami and the Keys a chance but a few years ago when I worked for the Mouse I made quite a few trips to Orlando and from my perspective, it has no redeeming qualities. Can say the same for the panhandle and the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.

Also, Terra Haute, Indiana.

I did not like London, but as it was only a very short time there, I’ll probably go again.

Barcelona. There are too many other cities I like in Spain to waste my time there again.

Cuba
Most Caribbean Islands
Venice
Singapore
Warsaw - only because it makes me sad

Almost forgot - Pattaya ! (kind of sleazy in my eyes)

I don’t dislike any of the above, it’s just that there are so many other places I’d rather visit either for the first time or again.

No offense, but Tokyo.

I was unimpressed by Madrid, except for the Prado. Pollution, the food was nothing special relative to other European cities, ditto the sights and shopping.

A couple of trips have brought me to Delaware. What can I say? No plans to return.

Chicagoans don’t think much of NW Indiana, except for the Dunes.

^^^ ditto for me on Madrid. And I tire of spanish food. Not enough vegetables.

Vegas
China- I’m glad I went but no desire to go again.

I didn’t like Nairobi but loved the other parts of Kenya
Until a few years ago I would have said San Francisco unless for shopping but we visited our D about 8 times over a few years. We grew to love it. We avoided the tourist areas. I loved walking her neighborhood. Loved the views. On the other hand I don’t particularly enjoy Napa or Sonoma.

Hamburg, Frankfurt, Madrid, Nyc, LA, London, Portugal, Texas, sweden, Tel Aviv, Azores, Philadelphia, New Haven, Hartford, Glasgow, Jerez (Spain), Tijuana.

The entire state of Texas, moooop?

Las Vegas. Once was one time too many.
Disney World. BTDT. Once is enough, though I may certainly reconsider for grands. It really is fun to show it to kids.

I’ve been to Paris a number of times, but until my trip in May, it was always in the winter.

I still loved Paris, but too many people. The Mona Lisa was like Times Square on New Years. Two hour line to get into Versailes, even with the museum pass. Couldn’t even get beyond the first level at the Eiffel Tower because of the crush of people.

And sweaty. Paris is walkable. I walk hours each day, but it wasn’t fun in 70 to 80 degree weather. I imagined it would be the deepest circle of hell during the recent 100 degree heat wave.

Winter is much more civilized, more comfortable to walk around, and you get a sense of the city without the ant hill of tourists. I can live without the greenery and flowers.

We were just in Paris, in the 100 degree heat. It was really hot. We still had a good time, but it definitely hampered the experience. It was hot in museums and in restaurants, and in a lot of stores. Fortunately, it was nice and cool in our hotel.

The Adirondacks during black fly season.
The Catskills during any season.
Any Massachusetts city except Boston.

One summer vacation was spent at a hotel in the Catskills. All-night party next door on night one. Our bed was broken. Our fridge barely worked. The dirty swimming pool had a swarm of bees at one end. The renowned shepherds pie tasted like canned hash. We packed up and left after two days despite not getting any money back from them.

I’m actually not crazy about Boston.

^ ^ ^

I hear you. But it’s a lot better than the surrounding cities where everybody is packed in like Gloucester sardines.

Mackinac Island during the day time. Once all the fudgies leave, it is wonderful.

@TonyK

Northampton? Amherst? Provincetown?

Unless you don’t consider them cities.

@TonyK, when is black fly season in the Adirondacks? April or May?
