I’m thinking more of Lowell, Lynn, Worcester, Springfield, Lawrence etc. They were bustling cities one hundred years ago, but are now just shells of their former selves.
The timing of black fly season is something you should check on before going on vacation in the Adirondacks as it might change year to year. I think we went in May and there was only one other family in our Big Rock cabins by the water. By the end of the week we were bloody messes and had to stay indoors.
No to Vegas. I just don’t like the gambling/stripper emphasis.
Worst stay ever was ramshackle motel outside Crater Lake–lake was awesome, but I’d stay in the park.
I travel a lot and have done so for years. Places I would and: Kuwait. Las Vegas, many places I’ve stopped in the US like St. Louis, Indianapolis, non-decrypt small towns, Niagara falls, Tijuana, Jakarta. Didn’t love Cambodia but loved Thailand and especially Vietnam.
St. Louis needs to call in a team of the world’s foremost experts to get the crime problem under control. It is such a cool city with so much going for it. But the crime rate is just crazy!
