travel tips

So my D has not traveled much on her own- but in March she is going to Pittsburgh, NYC & Chicago to visit friends ( She has only gone to Chicago before)
She is ADD and tends to get distracted- I am a little worried about her setting her bag down someplace and walking off-not a lot worried- but it wouldn’t be unusual.
( I have also heard her berate a car full of gangbangers who “complimented” her as she walked by-to my horror-luckily nothing happened- but I wonder if she chalked that up to good judgment- rather than good karma)

Anyway- I don’t travel much either- I can count the air trips I have taken in my lifetime on one hand!

So any suggestions- ideas- whether about what to see- what to wear- what to eat- etc that I could relay to her- would at least make * me* feel better.

For instance, should she take her passport with her for easier identification?

She does not need her passport if she has her driver’s license with her.

Have her carry as LITTLE luggage as possible. Really, a carry-on back pack should do the job. It’s harder to lose something when you only have ONE thing. She can put a small purse inside of it!

She’ll have a blast!
