Nice color, and the fit is perfect!
Excellent! And perfect length too.
True, and I have bought ski stuff from sierra. But sometimes you can score. Good deal on some sporting goods at tjmaxx. Haven’t looked on Line but wonder if they have more available there too?
My newest Sockwell compression socks arrived today and wow do they go well with my new shoes. Not to mention the new pants. I will be so stylish at Yosemite! People will take pictures of me instead of Half Dome and El Capitan ![]()
And they match the quilt too ![]()
LOL- I was out to say the same thing.
Remember the Favorite Color thread where I put up the teal shades? Half my wardrobe and the entire guest room are in that color family. Makes it easy to mix and match!
I also love teals/blues. My wardrobe has a variety of colors, but lots of teal.
It’s probably too late bc it’s May now, but REI has lots of socks on sale right now
Thought I’d give some feedback on my London (and York) travel. We had been to London first time last Oct, so I knew that temps in 50s can feel COLD when damp and windy.
First item is a repeat of what I mentioned in Dressing Young.
This is similar to the mentioned thin puffer jacket I wore a lot in England. (Mine is maroonish color, a little longer. Got it for $15 on ebay at the end of last winter). It resists water a bit, but for real rain I layered it under a windbreaker. Loved that I could stuff it in a little pouch for an extra pillow on the flights. It was really nice having the hood on a chilly 2 hour walking tour.
When we were in France and Switzerland, in towns where active lifestyle was a thing, the Patagonia puffer jacket or similar was THE most worn garment I noticed. Even though it didn’t seem that cold, people were wearing them.
The packability was great, and it could be tied around waist if needed (though usually I didn’t seen was not overheated with zipper open).
The high neck zip and shaped hood were especially nice features. Also liked the roomy zipped pockets.
Not necessarily saying the Eddie Bauer jackets are needed (they can be pricey). Just pointing out feature I appreciated.
I think that is the great thing about the Patagonia Nanopuff line (and others similar) - they can be both warm if it’s cold but not too warm if it’s on the milder side. I actually have FOUR in that weight - a Patagonia Nanopuff that is above the knee and hooded, a Marmot with no hood (I’ve had this for probably 15 years), an Eddie Bauer that is no hood and waist length and an LL Bean hooded 1/2 zip high hip length that I LOVE.
I just purchased what can be a great travel piece! Paired with the right kind of a top, it can create a more polished look than a sweatpants outfit - while actually wearing sweatpants! ![]()
Speaking of Patagucci, I love their Houdini jacket! Compact enough to fit into a small pocket yet is very wind and rain proof! Wouldn’t work for low fifties or below, but is great on chilly nights in late spring - early fall.
My windbreaker/rain jacket that handily fits over the thin puffer is pretty good in the rain, but I did have a rain poncho if needed. One feature I like on it is “pit zips” (to get extra ventilation if needed)… someday I may get a ski jacket that has them. It seems men’s jackets have them more than ladies.
A stylish European woman boarding a plane with me was wearing a pair of pants that looked very neat, flattering, and comfortable. I asked where she got them, and she said Athleta (and that she owned them in 4 colors). I think they were these. In any case, next time I’m in Athleta, I’ll check them out as they looked like a perfect travel pant.

Check them out now. The link you posted has them on sale for about $55!
Just one of the colors is that price and final sale. I have them in 2 colors and really like them.
