Travel / Vacation clothing

I ended up buying this dress that @abasket posted before our trip to Austria and Germany. It worked out great. I wore it with tights and boots two different times. Once to a Mozart concert in Austria and to dinner in Munich.

Such a cute dress! Do you mind sharing how tall you are and where it fell on you? Trying to gauge whether it would fall closer to the knee on me.

@CollegeNerd67 I am 5’6” but have a short torso. I was worried it would be too short, but it’s only an inch above by knees.

Jealous!! I bet you looked great.

Thank you - we are the same height. I was worried because in some of the pics it looks like more of a mini dress, but I assume the models are tall & leggy.

I like it! Really nice cut, and the color is my favorite.

Has anybody had experience with Comfrt airplane hoodie?

I see it on Facebook ad, which makes me a little leery. But it seems like something my kid with good standby/Frontier deal would like - she often sleeps in airports at layover, and the hood has a cool built in eyemask. And gobs of pockets, most with zippers.

That looks like a really fun, great hoodie for travel! If she’s flying Frontier, maybe she has just a personal item (my usual mode, lol) and those pockets would be super handy!

If anyone is interested in Lilly Pulitzer, they are having a big sale over the next couple of days. I’m not into the prints but because I’m going on a warm weather vaca in a few weeks, I looked it over for some solid color options (they few that they have - lol!) The colors and patterns still don’t appeal to me, but I did get a lightweight pullover 3/4 sleeve black sweater to wear with white jeans or some cream linen pants I have (we’ll be on a cruise and I tend to be cold on those). I’m probably one of the few people buying black from Lilly Pulitzer!

If you like their colors and prints, it’s a good sale!

Haha, I also bought a black pullover.

I have one in white that I wear often. I think the quality is pretty decent

How do sizing tend to run on their clothing? Good sales, but no returns.

In my experience, it’s TTS but I’ve only bought tops. Yes, no returns makes it a bit of a gamble.

I put more than 5 things in a basket or whatever Lilly calls it, but I never pulled the plug. They had a dress I really liked, 50% of, but if it didn’t fit it would be $100 down the drain. I still have a couple of tops in the cart, but hopefully they’ll be gone by tomorrow (I really don’t need anything). Side note - my SIL worked for LP for a couple of months when she retired to a new town. She met a couple of fun people and got something like 70% of their stuff. I think she was expected to wear it while working.

I have only 2 dresses eir me o. This trip. One is really a swim cover up. I almost packed a third but didn’t. Oh well. I get cold easily so tend to prefer pants.

So how many dresses/dressy outfits do you recommend for New Zealand?

Wouldn’t that depend on how much “dressy” activities you do there?

I just wondered why @jym626 wished she had more than two.

I have felt underdressed an evening or 2. I have formal stuff for those nights (chiffon skirt and a top) but in some evenings I was more casual than others (linen type loose slacks and a nice top). But I am on a cruise. Auckland itself is pretty casual. Mind you no one said a word about my gauze-y pants. But I felt like I should have changed (I had worn them during the day)

Bring one nice top to wear with black slacks. I have zero fancy clothes with me and even for “formal” nights, I’m fine.

I did bring dresses because it’s hot in Australia where we will spend two weeks after NZ
