<p>I"m already in NHS and foreign lang honrs society.</p>

<p>my ECs are one sport and the rest are mainly science based,…would showing tri-m honor society show adcoms that im proficient in other areas also and that i am a proficient musician?</p>

<p>I don’t think TriM in and of itself will show that you’re a proficient musician. Some of the most talented kids in my S’s class were too busy with their ‘real’ music ECs to deal with TriM. (I don’t mean that to sound derogatory of TriM because I don’t mean it to be. Most of the most musical kids were in it, as was my son, but he real musical ‘resume’ will show he was in practically every music performance group the school has, and did solo festival, etc.)</p>

<p>TriM is really no different than NHS, and just shows that you are into music. The best way to show colleges your musical ability would be to send in a supplemental tape or to audition.</p>
