<p>Apparently this person was robbed in his house before and shot in his house. One of his relatives claims that he suffers from PTSD from the incident. If you show up at a house with masks on, what is one going to think?</p>

This is a household with 2 drug dealers/users that have been convicted of multiple crimes, and you think they acquired the gun legally, and gun control would have prevented it? If it really was, as you say, an “automatic assault rife,” this type of gun has been strictly regulated since the 30s and there’s no chance he owned it legally.</p>

<p>Those of us who are “proponents of second amendment rights” would agree that this person didn’t own it legally. We follow the laws where as criminals don’t. So we need to give up our constitutional rights because of stupidity?</p>
<p>It is a tragedy that this child lost his life because of this idiot.</p>
<p>No need to dump Halloween. We made sure our children only went trick or treating at houses with Halloween decorations.</p>
<p>Safe here- the local police/corrections personnel even did spot checking of known sex offenders/pedophiles (sorry, don’t remember details exactly) to be sure they weren’t participating in handing out treats, a violation of their no contact with children rules. Around here porch lights on meant you were participating. And no excessive checking/harassment of the excons as they get spot checked routinely (the things one never knew).</p>

<p>Article states it was an assault rifle. It doesn’t cite police sources. My guess is that it was a semi automatic AK-47, which would make it…not an assault rifle. Anyway, the guy couldn’t legally own weapons, so I am sure he would also follow further gun rules. Our constitution isn’t based on ‘needs’. Why does Diane Feinstein ‘need’ a gun, or Rosie O Donell bodyguards with Class II weapons? Don’t they preach calling the police for self preservation?</p>
