If your status says “the committee has acted on your application”, or maybe even the “forwarded” status, this trick should work for you to see if you were indeed selected as a scholarship candidate:

FWIW, this trick isn’t working for my S who has been “forwarded” to the committee for a a couple days now. As background, he isn’t a national merit scholar. His GPA and SATs are strong (2240 and about 3.8), but not tippy top.

Hmm, then maybe it only works for those with the “acted” status? Your son’s stats look strong, so I wouldn’t be surprised if his status changes soon.

Oh hey it worked for me! Mine has the same message except I’m being considered for a presidential scholarship… aww I was hoping for a trustee scholarship but half is still good to shoot for I guess!

Yeah, looks like they took down the whole events registration system. I guess it’s true what they say about USC admissions officers browsing CC… haha :D

Our admission events for the Fall 2009 have concluded.

It’s probably partially my fault that I created a thread with such a provocative title… That was bound to catch the eye of an admissions officer.

If an admissions officer is reading this, PLEASE PLEASE change your application program so that if I have been on a page for 45 mins, it doesn’t assume that I’ve been idle even though I’ve been typing into the text boxes. That was a little frustrating there… I eventually got my app in but I hated having to waste time re-typing stuff. A friend of mine was so frustrated by this problem that he actually gave up on applying to USC :P.
