Which is better? i know they are vastly different schools but i like both of them…which has more prestige nationally? which would be better for getting into a top /ivy league grad school?

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but attending either of these schools will not give you a significant advantage over the other. Wisconsin probably has more name recognition nationally, but that’s simply because Wisconsin is in the Big Ten, whereas Trinity (I assume you are talking about Trinity in CT) is a small school in the NESCAC. Despite the difference in lay prestige, the schools are probably about equal in the minds of informed people (which would include grad school admissions offices).

There are tons of kids on CC asking which school to attend for grad school admissions, when in most cases it won’t make a difference. The name of the school you attended won’t get you in, you will. Wherever you go, you’re going to have to work hard, get good grades, and make yourself stand out. If you do that, you will do well when applying to grad school.
