What would I do without CC? I know Trinity Conn. quite well but Texas is a new one. Anybody know anything about it? It looked like a very modern campus building-wise on the website. Private, 2500 kids, and I think about 65% are Texans. What’s the scoop?

Great college, great town, fantastic puffy tacos (a couple sounds good right now). Worth your while to visit, it is a hidden gem. What’s your intended major? Yes, it is hot in Texas, but cars and buildings are ACed. As Jerry Jeff sez … friendliest people and the prettiest women you have ever seen.

It’s a well respected school. Affliated with the Presbyterian church but very loosely. I’ve heard they’re tough graders.

I think they offer business undergrad which our son is interested in studying and economics. His college counselor at school recommended it so I thought we’d do our due diligence! My husband LOVES San Antonio so it’ll be a great excuse to go there for a weekend and check it out. What’s the weather there likely to be in Jan…50’s?

The Weather Channel shows that the average daily high temperature in January in San Antonio is 62 degrees.
I visited the campus as a high school debate student and thought it was great. Students seemed happy to be there.

Ah 62…sounds good to me…!

Just so you’re not caught by surprise if you want to throw some touristy stuff into the visit, they do drain the river at the riverwalk in early-mid January (for cleaning) and have all kinds of mud festivities. Looks like it might be drained until Jan 17th or so.

If you post on the Parent’s board, there are a few big Trinity fans who post there. There is at least one 09 parent with a D there and another who would have loved for her D to have gone there.

Beautiful, big dorms with weekly “maid” service.
Campus is pretty and in a nice area of S.A.
Profs. walking on campus knew the student’s names.
I heard they give out decent merit aid.
Seems to have strong academics. IMO: It’s not Rice but it’s close.

I admit that I haven’t figured out their merit aid formula. Southwestern gave my son a lot more merit money than Trinity. Yet we know a family whose son really wanted to go to Southwestern, but Trinity gave him so much more merit money so he went there.

Can I go???
