Trinity Transfer to MIT?

I’m a sophomore at Trinity College. I got in Stanford and Trinity when I applied in HS. Out of whim I chose Trinity. I am doing fine but I just feel this school caps my academic growth because there are too few economics classes and ridiculously I just need another two classes and I will be done with my major by the end of my sophomore year. So I want to transfer to where I could be challenged academically.

HIGH SCHOOL
GPA: 4.0/4.0
Class Rank: 1/700
SAT: 2330 (Reading 780/ Math 800/ Writing 730)
SAT II: Math2 800 Physics 800

COLLEGE (Math and Economics major)

–1st Semester: GPA: 4.0/4.0
Intro Economics 100, A
Political Economics 100, A
Calculus I, A
English 172, Withdraw

–2nd Semester: GPA: 3.81/4.0
Intermediate Microeconomics 200, A
Calculus II, A
Physics 200, A
English 164, B+

This semester I’m taking 5 classes:
Calculus III,
Econometrics 400,
International Finance 300,
Intermediate Macroeconomics 200,
Biology 100
and I’m sure to get 4.0 GPA this semester since I’m taking classes that I’m good at. (I’m good at math and science and I’m a loser in English class)

something special: Last semester, as a freshman, I wrote an economics research paper which my professor believed to be of advanced graduate level. In high school, I was trained intensively for IMO but I didn’t get on the national team.

I didn’t apply to MIT. I should have but I don’t know what I was thinking back then. Now I realize that Trinity does not really fit me and I really want to transfer. I don’t know where my chances are. I’m thinking about MIT, Columbia, Wellesley, Dartmouth, Upenn, Cornell.

I’ll appreciate it if anyone would let me know whether it’s possible for me to transfer to those schools.

Thank you!

do you need FA? if not, and you want a seriously challenging education, then try to transfer to Chicago as well. You might as well reapply to Stanford too, though it is incredibly hard to transfer there. U of C takes 40-50 transfer students each year and would offer you more economics classes than you could ever possibly take elsewhere as an UG. But beware, not all of your classes will transfer into Chicago, and you will have to take some Core humanities classes in order to graduate. But a U of C degree in Economics will open doors to you just as well as a degree from S or MIT, and it will be easier to transfer there than into S or M.

Hey thanks. I do need FA however. And I prefer colleges in the East.

Ok, FA is VERY hard to get as an incoming transfer student at many colleges, just so you know . The pool of FA $$ is mostly reserved for incoming Freshman. You need to inquire at each college you are interested in transferring to what their FA policies are for transfer students.
