Trojan Alumni Network and Management Consulting

I'm thinking about majoring in economics and minoring in Spanish, and I want to know what the impact of USC's name and network do for opening job prospects, particularly in management consulting.

I will have about $5000 per year in loans, so is it worth the total $20000?

Also, would going the "progressive degree" route and getting my masters in Econ be a significant advantage?

I don't know why you wouldn't just major in Business Admin at Marshall...

I do know, however, that all the major consulting groups recruit at USC save for McKinsey (I don't know why haha). Boston Consulting Group, Bain, etc. all recruit at USC. I don't know if Marshall students have an edge over Econ students but I would assume that they do.

Don't know the answer to the last question. IMHO a masters or PhD in econ is worthless for a lot of reasons but I may be in the minority.

Who Recruits at USC | USC Career Center

So do you think I should go with bizadmin? I was leaning toasted econ because I figured it would give me a broader education. But I want to do whatever gives me the best chance at landing a good job

I would definitely go with Business Administration if I were you.
