<p>Many students from the eastern states have questions about the presence of USC alumni and their influence in New York.
A recent event at New World Stages theatre in NYC was held by the USC Alumni Club of New York, 8,600 members, and produced in partnership with the USC Alumni Association.
Here are some highlights referring to the awarding of “Tommy Awards” to USC alumni and their contibutions to the business, arts and sports communities in New York.
Honorees included Tony award-winning Broadway producer Kevin McCollum, alumnus, film director, Andy Tennant, alumnus, Sheryl Staples, alumna, principal associate concertmaster of the NY Philharmonic, Steve Smith, alumnus, WR for the NY Giants and John Blair, alumnus, a director of Credit Suisse.
In addition to the awards more than $30,000 in scholarships was awarded to eight USC students from the NY area.</p>
