I’m surpised USC is accepting online classes because we were told they wouldn’t accept them. I’m not sure how much they enforce this though. My son is is a current applicant.
It’s recommended, but don’t sweat it if you didn’t. My son is a current applicant for Marshall. He’s taking financial accounting right now because it articulates and fit in his schedule. For future applicants, I would try and get one or both semesters for a stronger application. My son was offered the Trojan Transfer “pathway” last year as we have ties to USC, but he didn’t decide until this past fall to pursue it; hence, only getting in one semester of accounting. Others have gotten in without it.
Hi there, my son is a current applicant and is at SMU right now. The articulation history is promising which is fortunate because my son wasn’t planning on transferring to USC until this past fall. He was able to adjust his spring schedule at SMU to meet transfer requirements for USC. We’re hoping he gets into Marshall!
Your son is a freshmen?
yes
Good luck to him on the transfer - please update when you know. Is he in SMU Cox today?
My daughter did ttp as a 2022 grad and her year was the first year they did group counselor zoom meetings. One on one meetings haven’t existed since then so don’t take this as a sign the program is over.
Did anyone get an email to sign up for a Trojan Information Session and when you clicked the link to sign up for one, the title of the page said TTP Info Session 2024
Yes my son got it and that’s what the landing page said.
Are you calling out the fact it said TTP?
It’s actually funny if it did say TTP after all the debate of that acronym!
When do TTP students actually start hearing back on admissions? End of May?
Some might hear next week through the end of May. It does seem quite a few TTPer’s hear a bit ahead of the transfer applicants. But worse case is everyone hearing something by May 31st. Applicants should get accepted, rejected or an SGR (semester grade request), meaning that applicant wouldn’t hear until they post their final grades. So some don’t find out till later June and even into July if they are on a late quarter system, for example.
The earliest would normally be next week, but with the time they are having, it may be closer to the 20th for first shout outs.
Hope it’s good news for those waiting for it!
Just a question for people who are doing ttp for next year, was the sign up through this website or did you get a different link? Just curious to see if ttp is still alive and well. Thanks for any insight.
It was not through that website. It was a special link that opened through the portal login. So it populated all my son’s info and there were two dates to choose from. It doesn’t seem like a general transfer program.
That is nice to hear.
Same experience.
It seems the feeling on reddit is that everyone who got rejected got this offer. Really no way to check on that. Did anyone NOT get the trojan transfer option?
It is highly unlikely that USC ‘as a norm’, invites every rejected applicant to reapply as a transfer. I think it’s more likely that those who are rejected outright are not commenting on reddit posts because they feel the door has closed. It’s also likely that those with the transfer ‘offer’ are on reddit seeking information. But no, I don’t think every rejected applicant has the transfer option spelled out for them.
There are links on the usc website to sign up for transfer info sessions and to get counseling help for any students interested in transferring. This is a new thing because this wasn’t available last year so that is where the confusion comes from. What your student probably got is the classic ttp, given to high stats students who were deferred. Seems like the only pathways USC got rid of was Viterbi pathways program, which my daughter is currently on.
