I got the same message on my rejection letter this year. Wanted to know if the wording had any significance? And did you transfer into usc.
Not sure what you mean by âwhat the letter meantâ. Noone will ever know for sure as USC isnât going to tell us the intent of the language in the letter. All speculation at this point. But as you can read in the threads above, with the changes in California law the 2028 class that received the letters may be the last of the official TTP group. Again, all speculation.
We were told that Gatway was purchased by USC to by used as offical housing and TTPers couldnât live there after August. I think the HUB is the new place for those looking to be near campus and go to SMC.
USC often leases space from Gateway to use for undergraduate housing. I donât believe they own the complex.
@lkg4answers is correct, USC utilizes spaces within Gateway, but the building is not owned by the university. They do own the USC Hotel though and have used that as well for temp housing when something like a pipe bursts in a dorm or other housing issue, and used it exensively during covid.
Interesting. I wonder why they turned us down to sign a lease for the fall with USC purchasing the Gatway building as an explanation.
Totally possible its a new development that Iâm not up onâŠbut I asked around and didnât get that confirmed. It would make sense for them to buy it - itâs right there and already set up as dorm rooms basically.
Been a long year for my son waiting, but based on previous transfer announcements it sounds like today may be the day. Good luck all!
