Congrats!! You guys must be so thrilled. I hope this means great news for other ttpers waiting on Sgr. Wishing everyone gets great news soon.
Oli1 - just messaged you!
Is this worth going to? Seeing if we can do the virtual instead of this meet up. Any heads up would be greatly appreciated.
Newsome just signed bill banning legacy admissions. California law bans college legacy and donor admissions, including at USC, Stanford
Officially takes effect September 1, 2025, so TTP may have one more year at best.
Hi- I am a prospective trojan with a 3.55 UW and a 4.25 W. I know that may seem low, but I did have a 3.8 last year and a 4.6 weighted ( I have great progression). I have a 34 act as well. Anyway, I am a legacy; my dad and two others have attended USC, and I was wondering what my shots for TTP look like. I love USC and would do anything to go there, even a year abroad. Is there a specific criteria that some students meet, or would anyone who did TTP mind sharing their stats? Thanks!
My recently visited USC as a hopeful transfer and the admissions counselor mentioned this bill and that legacy can still have an impact until the bill goes into effect next year.
How do you like the HUB Fig? My son just signed a lease for Fall 25.
Daughter loves it! Only complaint is the walk to campus.
How are expecting TTP’ers planning for housing in the fall, assuming the admission cards are in your favor? Do you just react quickly if you get accepted?
Is this TTP? Just got it.
XXX, this decision was especially difficult for us given your ties to the USC community. If you decide that you still wish to explore a path to USC, consider applying for admission as a transfer student. Students may apply to transfer to USC after at least one year of strong academic work elsewhere. To learn more, simply complete this and I will email you more information about (1) our expectations of transfer applicants, and (2) details about Trojan Transfer Information Sessions later this summer that will help you plan your course of study.
Wondering if everyone gets this paragraph at the bottom of the rejection now… Not sure it means anything more than giving you more info on how to reapply.
I’ve heard people got a similar thing, but not with the due to your ties with the Trojan family part
My son got the paragraph mentioning “ties to the Trojan Family” but not sure what it means if anything. We were surprised it was mentioned at all given the heat they’ve been getting for the legacy stuff.
So if you didn’t get the “ties to Trojan family” paragraph, then it’s just normal transfer? There’s a paragraph about transfer info but not the family part.
“Ties to your community” is what my son got in 2024, and we believe that is the subtle nod to TTP. Although if you look earlier in this thread there is a lot of conversation about the change in laws in CA which go into effect later this year, presumably calling the concept of TTP into question after the Fall 2025 transfers are admitted.
That was the theory for the Fall 2024 rejection letters. USC is apparently very transfer friendly, TTP or not.
Hi all,
My daughter is interested in living at University Gateway and doing Trojan Transfer at Santa Monica College. She is looking for a roommate (or two) who is doing Trojan Transfer or is a Spring Admit. Please let her know if you are interested!

Agree, that is very true. I have no clue how TTP will work next year, and thus I am not set on it. I have appealed my decision on the basis of leaving out a physical disability I have, due to the fact I already mentioned something else in my additional info section. I actually really like my appeal letter, and if it does not work, then this door was shut for a reason. It is hard, though, considering I am a 4x legacy.
I have also committed to TCU with honors and a very generous scholarship. Either way, whatever happens, I will be happy.
We went ahead and rented an apartment. Fingers crossed for the acceptance. Worse case we will sublet.
I’m apart of the class of 2029, my rejection letter said the same thing. I wanted to know if you were able to identify what the letter meant?
