Trojan Wannabes (USC 2014 Hopefuls)

hi guys! I’m friends of Eiffel and also a big USC hopeful!

I was born in Korea and came to America when I was 11… yeah English is pretty much my second language and I am classified as an International student even though I have been in America for good amount of my teenage years (approaching 6 years total). :stuck_out_tongue:

I do not have top-notch credentials. SAT: 2040 (1330 math-reading), ACT: 30 (10 writing), GPA: 4.2-ish weighted I think. I am within the 13% of my school class, kinda close to top 10% but still  I am having better senior year so far though. Our school does not have 10 point grading scale so it is harder to obtain A or B’s. I hope that gets into the factor.

Other schools I pretty much care about are Rice (my next top choice. my Rice interviewer really liked me but the odds are still against me pretty much), Duke (not too much of a top choice but would be nice and shiny if I get in) and University of Maryland (already accepted and got into CP Scholars. I am really familiar with the school itself pretty much living in Maryland and having to attend their summer program in consecutive summers).

right now I have been getting very nervous on the notifications. Everyday I check my mailbox and see that I do not have anything from USC, I wish that they would still give out acceptance letters in late march.

one positive thing about my chance is that I did meet one of their admissions officers last October (for some reason USC was the only school from west coast that came all the way to our school in Maryland. I love it) and we had a very good talk about the school and application process. I was then tutoring another student from local public school and she had told the same officer that I was helping out her on studying, which might give the officer the sense of personal quality. I just feel like I could have done more on essay to reveal more about myself  (I talked about my encounter with creative writing and dealing with English as a second language)

I hope I get in and have a great time there and the same goes for all of you Trojan hopefuls of this website! :)
