Trojan Wannabes (USC 2014 Hopefuls)

the only other sport in trouble with the NCAA is basketball,
and USC has tried to make up for it somewhat with self-imposed sanctions(vacating all wins in 2007-2008 season, and a one-year ban on postseason competition this season)…
its rumored that the football team tried to impose self-sanctions as well but the NCAA turned them down which leads some to think that the NCAA has their own tougher sanctions in mind

all i know is i hope I get to enjoy some trojan football if i get in, and hopefully a rose bowl haha

I’m pretty clueless about USC football. Sad, right? The most I know of the rivalry between USC and UCLA is 1) a girl on my USC tour was wearing a UCLA jacket. Haha…nobody really cared, the tour guide just teased her a little, and 2) we were walking along
I don’t really like watching sports unless I have a team to cheer for and since I’m not officially in college yet and we don’t have major sports followings around, I only have high school. Whoo!

On another note, I submitted two apps tonight. In one way, it feels good, and in another, I’m nervous. After this week, I should be done with college apps foreverrr. Except I’m probably going to try to transfer, so…for two years.

^Yeah, I don’t know much about football either, but I get the feeling that if I go to USC…I pretty much will transform into a football fan. :stuck_out_tongue: The football fandom is supposedly infectious there, and cheering for my college–instead of just a random team that happens to be from the city I live in–will be much more fun and meaningful, IMO.

It’s definitely easier to cheer for something you’re really part of.
I hope admissions likes school spirit…my interview was the day after our state championship game. My voice sounded off, but maybe she didn’t notice. I was rambling on about my enthusiasm the night before, though. That and band (which is my biggest thing…I wish I could’ve brought out the full range of things I do for the band/guard). Only she kept bringing up other topics. =P

I finally received my official acceptance letter from UC Davis! Woot!! :D

congrats, Eiffel. :)

^ UCs already started sending out acceptance letters? or it is just UC Davis? Do they do rolling or something? I thought everyone has to wait til March to find out about UC schools…

Grats! I think its if you were an ELC student at your california public high school(top 4% or something like that), you receive some of your notifications earlier than the rest

Thanks, guys! And yeah, it’s because of ELC.

hey guys, congrats effiel for getting a letter from uc davis

Thanks! Did you guys apply to any UC schools?

yeah i did, i applied to 6

Nice! Which ones, and what’s your first choice?

what were your answers for quick-take thing?

I applies to UCLA and UC Santa Barbara. UCLA is probably my top choice out of the UCs but they don’t have scholarships for international students so I don’t think I’ll be able to go (if I even get accepted).

I really do like UCLA though, the campus is awesome and I got a really nice feeling when I visited last summer. Can’t beat USC though!

Ah I just had my interview and I think it went really well! I’m so excited and happy! And he ended it by saying “Hopefully you’ll hear back from us soon with good news!” I don’t know if they say that to everyone, but it sure made me feel good! Did you all interview?

@wisdom , I did which school did you have with?

I interviewed with USC Marshall School of Business and I think it went really well as well  My interviewer and I bonded over discussing French men and other interesting aspects of international students. :)

I am a girl from NC applying in engineering, but a SAG film actor, so i want to act while I am there if I get there…fingers and toes crossed. :)

Emily, that’s so cool that you’re SAG! I’d love to be Equity, myself. :)

My interview was with the School of Theatre. :D
