Eiffel: congrats on the actual acceptance. That must feel good. :)

ttliyusu2: I wish I had an interviewer like yours…mine was nice, but I didn’t feel that I got to talk freely. Especially since it seemed like we had a lot in common.
(and I might have said some dumb things…gotta love the pressure. =P)

I realized that my quick takes were actually really boring once I looked at them again. Haha. I guess I’m not thaaat exciting.

When did you receive this letter? I have ELC too but I might just be assuming I got into Davis. I got a letter from Irvine inviting me to apply so I’m also taking that as a semi-acceptance (even though I didn’t apply). What did your Davis letter say?

I have the ELC status that’s the lower-tier. Local context, I think it’s called?

Thanks! Don’t worry; your letter will come soon. Some of my friends got their letters earlier than me, and I was worried, but then I got mine after all. It said I was officially accepted and everything. But if you didn’t apply to Irvine, you won’t be able to attend even if you are ELC, right?

Dr.Dolittle is completely irrelevant to international studies. I was applying the last minute, and somebody on CC gave me examples of “dream job” and dr.dolittle was one of them. I chose dr.dolittle without thinking a second as I love animals and I’ve always actually thought it would be cool to communicate with them but after submitting the app I realized my major was international studies not veterinary and I just want to go jump off !!! hahahaha
hahahaha hahahaha ahahah hahahaha ahha shooooot me
And my role model was my best friend.
And my favorite fictional character was huckleberry.
My hobby was to collect gum wrappers.
I beg USC’s mercy…

Eiffel, did you have the lower or upper-tier version of ELC? I forgot which was which. One was local eligibility, and the other was statewide. I’m pretty sure local is lower-tier, which is what I have. So my school is UC Irvine, since it’s the closest besides UCLA (which isn’t ELC, unfortunately).

I’m not really sure about that. If I didn’t get into anywhere else, I guess I could go to Irvine… but that wouldn’t make sense because I have the status. So I would at least get into UCSB, which was the lowest UC I applied to.

Hmmm…I thought ELC just was for local, top 4% at every Cali high school that participates. And statewide is the lower-tier for people who meet the A-G requirements and everything, so they can at least go to Merced or something? I don’t really know, to be honest. :-/

So, you did apply to Irvine, then? Well, then you should be in and you should get your letter anytime. If you’re ELC, you should also be guaranteed into UCSB and should be receiving your letter soon.

Wow, this is a prolific thread… i put my dream job was on broadway-even though I applied in engineering-i know not a fit, but I was honest. I love acting. :)

@2010emily, so if you want to be an actor, why did you apply as an engineer? Are you going to try to be a professional actor but be an engineer in case acting doesn’t work out?
