Trojan Wannabes (USC 2014 Hopefuls)

Yeah, but logically, one should pursue his dream job if it’s within reach. Being an actor is certainly an option for someone who loves acting.

Eiffel.

I know.
I want to die. I put dr.dolittle. My major is international studies.

…

Eiffel, you nailed it. i am a logical actor. i know how tough it is to make it in that business-I have been doing it since age 8. I LOVE math. I will always act, whether it be in community theater or film, but I thought I needed a degree to “fall back on”, or probably to “lead the way with”. Trust me, if I am at USC, I will act, but I also want to give myself as many options as possible. i have really crazy diverse interests. :)

Lifegr
Dr. DoLittle
I think that is cute, and creative, don’t take it too seriously. :)

@Emily, haha, I applied as a Screenwriting major at USC. But I don’t feel it’s supremely illogical because…7 out of 8 USC Screenwriting grads become professional screenwriters right out of graduation! And hey, maybe you can act in some of my movies. :)

Emily,
SC encourages multidisciplinary studies and diverse interests. Last year Kim Boynton graduated from Viterbi with a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering. She also found time to be the featured baton twirler for university events. Paul VanWieren, 2009 valedictorian, from Viterbi is an avid bicyclist. Robin Strumpf majored in mechanical engineering as well as political science. She was a USC Renaissance Sholar.

Other engineering students are pursuing minors in theatre, anthropology or music.

…just a little interesting fact. About 1/4 of the Trojan Marching Band are engineers.

^So, where do you get all this info from? And do you work for USC’s public relations? :)

WOW, USC is sounding like a better and better fit. How interesting! I may minor in film studies or theater then. I applied to Princeton too for the excellence in diverse areas. Eiffel, count on it, I do a lot of indy film work in the southeast, and WOULD LOVE LOVE LOVE to collaborate with a great screenwriter. YAHOO!

Eiffel,

All of the SC parents, students and alumni on CC are volunteers. I am an alumna, native born Californian, who posts here to answer questions from potential applicants. My experience at SC was so positive this is one way I can “give back” to my alma mater. Students read about the Trojan family. It is not a myth. Even though I now live in Georgia my ties to the university are lasting.

The information I post is from SC publications, The Trojan Family Magazine, U.S. News, Chronicle of Higher Education, websites of other colleges and the websites of individual schools at SC.

Hey guys! I’m applying to SC class of '14 woot woot! Does anybody know about what time decisions come out?

between march and april!

The anxiety is going to kill me till then!

Wait, what if I applied before the Dec. 1 deadline for scholarship consideration. Do I get a decision earlier?

yeah i know, hey joisonfire what is major?

My major will probably be Chemistry, but I’m still undecided!!

no we dont get early decision, only if you receive a scholarship they email you :)
