I know - last thing I need to do right now, update my iPhone. But D2 updated hers without trouble and so tried to do mine…but no luck. I haven’t updated in awhile…we tried through iTunes hooked up to the computer and on the phone itself. It starts and then after a bit says not enough storage available.
abasket, sigh. FWIW, I am on iOS 6. The following updates all required more memory. Your phone will be fine as is for a while… Maybe the next update will fix the bloat.
Been having the same problem with mine. I’ll be trying to take a picture and get a message that there is no more storage available. I’ve managed to keep going by deleting some extraneous pictures and videos, but I can’t say I know what the problem is
I don’t have more than a couple podcasts loaded. I delete them as soon as I listen to them. Again, should not be a storage issue since my storage on my phone AND my iTunes upon plugging in shows that I have enough storage.
I know how to manage storage on my phone. I know that if I try to take a photo and it says “not enough memory” that I need to clear out text message threads, photos I don’t need (and actually delete the deleted ones), get rid of voice mails, etc.
I’m talking strictly about trying to download the update.
What I am saying is if you skip this particular update, the phone will still work fine until the next one which might download just fine. As I recall, Mr. B had some troubles with one of the updates, so he did not download it, and the next one cured the issue.
^^I see. I actually think I probably “skipped” a couple of updates - but there is no indication that a different one needs to be downloaded before this one can work. Just frustrating why it works on one phone and not on another!
