Trustee Scholarship Question

Sorry, this is a silly question, but to clarify

1.) On BU’s website, it says that they like to award Trustee Scholarships mainly to people who already have need-based aid. Do they ever award to people, who inconveniently do not seem to require finanical aid?
“Certain scholarships are offered to academically talented candidates who apply for need-based aid and show minimal or no calculated financial eligibility, but whose calculated family contributions do not substantially exceed the cost of attending BU”

2.) Do teacher recs need to be in by Dec 1st?

Where does it say that they like to award Trustee Scholarships mainly to people who already have need-based aid?

yeah, I think you’re misreading something. Trustee Scholarships are strictly merit based. other scholarships are a combination of merit and need or strictly need.

actually i think the link you’ve posted refers to scholarships like the Dean’s Scholarship for CAS…merit scholarships awarded to students who may not be eligible for need-based aid, but whose family financial situation isn’t putting them in the super-rich range

Also, why would anyone who qualifies for significant need-based aid ever take a Trustee Scholarship? If you qualify for aid and can get a TS, you can go to a much better school and get need-based aid there.

Thanks! That’s what I thought, but one of my friends said something differently.

Do you know anything about teacher rec due dates, if either of you are Trustee?
