Trying to be sincere with my essay

<p>I am being sincere in my essay however have found some thoughts that the adcoms may question. Essential I am writing an essay about how I got a part time to job to help my family. The thing is that I am not exactly poor, I’m just trying to pay for things on my own and help my family any way I can. For example, I have paid for academic tests and a summer college course. I also will pay for most of my college applications.</p>

<p>This job has been very influential on me and has taught me many great things. Should I only focus on this aspect and not the financial burden on my family? I just am worried that adcoms will see my essay as not being sincere since I don’t see myself as being poor. </p>

<p>For some context:
My families net income is ~80k</p>

<p>If you are trying to be responsible and contribute just be upfront about that and don’t infer that you are needy. Every middle class family still can use help paying the bills and I’m sure your parents appreciate that you are helping and not just spending it on goodies for yourself.</p>

<p>I guess colleges are really looking forward for independent, mature students and if you emphasize that in your essay it will be nice for them.</p>
