My goal is to get to NYU. However, my grades are not good enough yet so in the meantime I am looking at some other NY schools. I was accepted to Fordham LC for the Fall 2010 semester but did not go for extensive reasons. Now I am looking into going again for Fall 2012 until I can transfer to NYU. I am wondering though if I am going to just transfer to NYU anyways it may be overwhelming to go from one fairly large university to another one. It may be easier on me to go from a low key university while I build myself up. If I went to Fordham it wouldnt be permanent…it is just the means to an end. Large universities are a lot more everything. They are a lot more money, a lot more work, a lot more complicated. Why go through that for a school that is not my goal? If I have to go to Fordham I will…it isnt a horrible school. But if I can find a more low key school in NY instead, I’ll do it.
I have started to look into CUNYs. Which CUNYs do you believe match the description of my ideal school? If SUNYs or other small schools you know of match this description please mention them.

My ideal school would be:

-In Manhattan…or (if its upstate) atleast have a residence hall at a manhattan campus.
-By Manhattan I mean nothing higher than mid central park. I dont want to be living in Harlem.
-Offer the HEOP program
-Offer Dependency Overrides
-Has cheap out of state tuition (I was born and raised in nyc, even went to HS there but have been away for a while so unless I can get someone willing to consider my case and allow me resident tuition I will be paying non-resident tuition and some of these schools have ridiculous non-resident fees like $400-500/credit.)
