right now my overall gpa is 3.58 with a finished igetc and mostly business major classes, but if i plan to switch to cs and take another year at ccc and finish all pre-reqs on assist.org since it will impacted, what are my chances to getting into cs major? i can probably raise my gpa to around 3.65-3.75. my admission into school is not that big of a deal because i plan on using u-link. i plan to minor in accounting as well.

what other things will help me get accepted into CS when it gets impacted? i can get into Phi Theta Kappa (coomunity college honors society)

Get the best grades you can in your math and CS classes. Keep focused on that. Don’t get distracted by accounting. Theta Kappa is respected. Be an active member in that an in your community. Show that you bring something to the campus life.

For CS at any school, show your interest. That is, try and get some CS related EC’s. Pet projects (coding/building things not for class) are great. Math competitions (like AMATYC) can be fun too. Robotics, CS clubs, whatever. That’s not to say you should overload yourself and try to do everything, those are just examples. But try to pick up some sort of tech-y EC… show that you’re actually interested in CS and aren’t just in it for money or something.

On a more obvious note: Do your pre-reqs, as many as you can, and try for a high GPA.
