Trying to plan 21st bday dinner and need help from New Yorkers.

Oooh! I went to Ilily a couple of times this summer. A fun, young crowd with quite a few large groups. Really great food. I think happy hour had half-price drinks - which was good cause this place ain’t cheap!

Thanks everyone! We’re going for the Rodeo Bar and Grill. It looks like a fun place, in a location she likes, with her fav country music. I truly appreciate all of your suggestions and help. I found the place where D is living due to the nice folks on CC. My husband laughs as both my kids are in college and I still go on here all the time. People are so helpful :).

just saw this thread
if its not too late - check out la esquina - it’s in Nolita, which is a cool hip neighborhood, serves mexican food, This is the original “hidden” restaurant - you need to go downstairs, through the kitchen to get into a lounge, and then restaurant. Great experience, lots of fun and very good authentic food.
I love rosa mexicana lincoln center for drinks before/after movies, but its overpriced for the quality of food, and generally speaking new yorkers dont go there.
incidentally, if you are coming up for the 21st, why not make a lunch reservation just with your daughter at 21? Very new york thing to do at lunch and something she will remember.

just reread your post - she can also go to southern hospitality or UVA on upper (70’s 80’s) Third avenue.

^LOVE the suggestion of going to 21 on her 21st. Unfortunately I am not planning on visiting then, buy maybe she can go with a good friend or her boyfriend. Thanks for the idea!
