<p>Speaking here as an international EC, I cannot tell when I am interviewing who is going to get in. I can often tell the ones who won’t get in, but amongst the pool of people who could get in, I cannot tell which ones will. Of course, people do not apply to Universities, Jobs, or anything else. Application folders do, and there is a disconnect. The application process is based around trying to identify the person underneath the application folder.
It is an inexact science.</p>
